And yes, how cool is it that Matthew has included several of my favorite blog projects and home vignettes in his magazine. Along with one of my design idols and authors, Mary Emmerling, and new-found designers that I am now loving too.
Last week I was blissfully working away in Valencia, California, at the offices of the fabulous Modern Masters team! Along with fellow faux finisher and decorative artist, Mary Childs from Orlando, we each created seasonal DIY projects, to be debuted prior to each holiday.
What an honor and a treat to play with many of my favorite products while conjuring up projects I think you are going to swoon over. Watch for cool and creepy Halloween ideas, coming soon, on the ModernMastersCafe.com blog!
During Masterminds week, I later discovered, one of my Modern Masters Front Door Paint projects, using the bright green color Fortunate, was featured in a color-trending story about Modern Masters, by writer Bonnie McCarthy, of the Los Angeles Times.
What a coincidence!
I hope you’ll hop over to the story and check out the bright and inspiring front door projects by fellow bloggers, TheTaleOfAnUglyHouse.com, RobbRestyle.com, ColourSaturatedLife.com, and SpoonfulOfImagination.com.
Decorating your home or office? Need a wonderful gift for any occasion?
I am loading up tons of photos from trips to Italy, Spain, France, Morocco, and Puerto Rico that can be used alone as a single statement, or grouped together for fabulous impact. Think small – in a powder room. Or huge – use several over a sofa!
Mix and match! Choose from warm and cool colorways, castles, stunning doorways, and Marrakech moments. Old World and contemporary.
All you need to do is go to my Etsy shop, MyPatchOfBlueSky, and peruse my growing collection of gorgeous options! You will purchase a downloadable image, in JPG form, that will arrive, lightning-fast, as soon as you pay for your purchase!
You can print the photo on your own printer on photo paper, take it (or email it) to a local printer or Office Depot-type store, or upload it to a service like Shutterfly. Then pop into your own frame.
PLUS, here’s a summer decorating coupon, that will save 30% on your purchase of $15 or more, thru August 31st!
Once you have loaded up your Etsy shopping cart in my store, use this coupon code:
This coupon will apply to all items in my shop, and if you purchase 2 photos, it will be like getting a third free!
Happy shopping, and stop by often. I will be adding lots more photos all summer long!

Many thanks to Melanie Royals and the team at Royal Design Studio, who publishes the online design magazine PaintAndPattern.com, for including my tutorials for a second year in 2015! Clearly, I am nuts about stenciling and all sorts of patterns, from contemporary, to Moroccan, and everything in between.
Thanks as well for sending so many stencils and modellos for me to use in my workshops at ArtFusion in Santa Fe. They are always a huge hit.
Yes, our home is very Boho, with lots of color and pattern in stenciled furniture, accessories, and artwork. Just when I think I can’t imagine one more stenciling project, I get inspired again, often by fellow P+P bloggers like Deb Trombley, of NomadicDecorator.com and so many more.
I’m looking forward to many new project adventures using Royal Design Studio stencils, modellos, Stencil Cremes and who knows what else in 2016. See you there!
Working with Artisan Enhancements in 2015 was such a memorable year for me. I blogged frequently using lots of their fabulous products, worked with Staci Belew and her team on training materials for retailers, and even taught finishes I created at the inspiring ArtFusion Event in Santa Fe.
Many thanks to Jennylyn Pringle, the Fusion Mineral Paint family, and many merchants for a fun year in 2015. We accomplished a lot of learning in Orlando and Toronto, at the ArtFusion Event in Santa Fe, and at my studio in North Carolina, and much more!
Happy New Year, and I’m looking forward to continued painting adventures with you all!
