Our Dreary Brick Fireplace Gets A Fresh New Look Using Fusion Mineral Paint!

Our drab fireplace gets fabulous using Fusion Mineral Paint

Our home is in central North Carolina, where brick is the typical material for houses. Here, our dirt is not gorgeous, dark, and rich. It is, well, clay. Hard, red, and perfect for making bricks. It’s a good thing, because it is so durable. It’s sometimes a bad thing because, in homes built in the 1970s like ours, it is often dark and ugly when used for interior fireplaces. Where we live, every home in the neighborhood has a very dark, paneled den with dark stained paneling, trim and beams in 8′ foot ceilings. All of this creates a seriously dreary room.

Fusion Mineral Paint stenciled and gilded plant stand project.

I am still working on projects in our happy, bright, living room. I Am Thrilled To Be A Consultant With Homestead House Paint Co. In Canada!

Fusion Mineral Paint

I am one happy artist. Recently the president of Homestead House, Jennylyn Pringle, contacted me after discovering my website and Facebook page. My faux finishing background coupled with lots of experience using Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan, Wood Icing®, Artisan Enhancements and Modern Masters products made me a great resource to assist Jennylyn and her team with projects for Fusion Mineral Paint which debuted last year.

Many of you know Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint, which is manufactured by Homestead House, but you may not be familiar with Fusion Mineral Paint, which is 100% acrylic.

My painting friends who know my passion for Chalk Paint® will be wondering what the difference is. Fusion is quite different. Its gorgeous sheen is satin and it needs no top coat, although you can opt to achieve a beautiful luster by adding a Beeswax Finish.
