A White Painted Cabinet Features My Family Christening Ensemble

white

Sometimes re-painting a furniture piece is more about what you want to do with it than what color it it, or what finish it is. This cabinet is not old. It’s plain. It’s functional. I just painted it with Fusion Mineral Paint, in the color Casement, that requires no topcoat. It was a passionate project, brought on by the recent death of my dear Aunt Theresa. I loved her effervescent spirit all my life, and now she is gone. The last of our family in my parents’ generation.

An Old Chest Upcycled With Fusion Mineral Paint In Blues

Upcycled old chest, using Fusion Renfrew and Homestead Blue.

No doubt, Fusion Mineral Paint is one of the fastest and easiest ways to update a piece of furniture. The eco-friendly, matte finish, 100% acrylic paint won my heart a couple of years ago.

If you know my style, I love to layer, add texture and patterns, and more. But lately I am craving a total simplicity option: a quick way to update a piece, with NO clear coat or wax required. Used gently for 21 days to dry and cure, this product is super durable.

Having been a project blogger for many years, I am gloriously blessed with the opportunity to try out many fabulous home décor ideas with a variety of paint, patterns, and tools. And, over all of those years, our house gets, quite frankly, over-projected at times.

So I have been on a mission to redirect my style, though always a bit boho and eclectic, to a more serene place of quiet backgrounds with unique art and colorful accents.

Make a simple plant stand gorgeous using Fusion Mineral Paint and products |Tutorial

Here’s one of my many favorite projects for Fusion Mineral Paint, using their paint, Tinting Kits, Sand Stone Texture, Gilding Paste, and Beeswax Finish.

There’s nothing like the feeling of taking a piece like this large, boring plant stand and making it a fabulous statement in a room!

Create Cool, Contemporary Faux Brick Using Fusion Products

Create Cool, Contemporary Faux Brick Using Fusion Products

Recently I posted about painting our fireplace brick and mantel with Fusion Mineral Paint. It was fast, inexpensive, and provided the immediate gratification I crave! Just a bit of cleanup to begin with and I had a fresh, new look in about an hour and a half, no sealer coat required.

While I was painting, I thought about folks who do not have a brick fireplace – maybe just drywall above their mantel, or even no fireplace at all. I realized that Fusion has a wonderful option for creating the faux brick look! They offer a stencil shaped like authentic brick that can be used for painting what I call southern-traditional-style brick. You know, terra cotta and browns. Or, like my new favorite, a cool, contemporary color scheme, using soft grey and white textures.
