Sometimes re-painting a furniture piece is more about what you want to do with it than what color it it, or what finish it is. This cabinet is not old. It’s plain. It’s functional. I just painted it with Fusion Mineral Paint, in the color Casement, that requires no topcoat. It was a passionate project, brought on by the recent death of my dear Aunt Theresa. I loved her effervescent spirit all my life, and now she is gone. The last of our family in my parents’ generation.
No doubt, Fusion Mineral Paint is one of the fastest and easiest ways to update a piece of furniture. The eco-friendly, matte finish, 100% acrylic paint won my heart a couple of years ago.
If you know my style, I love to layer, add texture and patterns, and more. But lately I am craving a total simplicity option: a quick way to update a piece, with NO clear coat or wax required. Used gently for 21 days to dry and cure, this product is super durable.
Having been a project blogger for many years, I am gloriously blessed with the opportunity to try out many fabulous home décor ideas with a variety of paint, patterns, and tools. And, over all of those years, our house gets, quite frankly, over-projected at times.
So I have been on a mission to redirect my style, though always a bit boho and eclectic, to a more serene place of quiet backgrounds with unique art and colorful accents.

You may think I paint all of the time. Surprise! Sometimes I hammer, drill and slice after schlepping through tons of scrap metal at the junkyard!
It’s a dirty job. One that I love. I used to create copper art all the time, but one of my faux finishing clients bought every piece I had recently made for his man cave. Now, ages later, I’m rediscovering a passion, and, this is a great way to work out my new bionic shoulder and have a blast too.
Check out my newest junk art series, “Recycle The City” in my Etsy shop today!
Custom sizes and designs are available – think man or lady caves, bars, restaurants, art studios. You get the idea!
