November 1, 2, and 3 were once-in-a-lifetime experience days for me and several other blogger/influencers who converged in Minneapolis, Minnesota for the first-ever Wagner Painting InSPRAYtional event, hosted by Wagner staff and style guru Matthew Mead, who many know through Wagner’s FINISH magazine. Many thanks to Danielle at FindingSilverPennies.com for shooting my photo.
No doubt, Fusion Mineral Paint is one of the fastest and easiest ways to update a piece of furniture. The eco-friendly, matte finish, 100% acrylic paint won my heart a couple of years ago.
If you know my style, I love to layer, add texture and patterns, and more. But lately I am craving a total simplicity option: a quick way to update a piece, with NO clear coat or wax required. Used gently for 21 days to dry and cure, this product is super durable.
Having been a project blogger for many years, I am gloriously blessed with the opportunity to try out many fabulous home décor ideas with a variety of paint, patterns, and tools. And, over all of those years, our house gets, quite frankly, over-projected at times.
So I have been on a mission to redirect my style, though always a bit boho and eclectic, to a more serene place of quiet backgrounds with unique art and colorful accents.
Sometimes a girl’s just gotta have fun! Or even a girl’s guy.

Many of my friends and clients are retailers of DIY paint and decorating products. On their behalf, I am excited to see this magazine, Paint & Decorating Retailer, targeted to their business, online and in print. It is packed with need-to-read content regarding color, social media, trends, and so much more, for the do it yourself and professional markets.
One of my dear friends, and social media guru and marketing consultant, Regina Garay of Sociacomm.com also comments on metallics, finishes, and their currents trends.

Many thanks to Melanie Royals and the team at Royal Design Studio, who publishes the online design magazine PaintAndPattern.com, for including my tutorials for a second year in 2015! Clearly, I am nuts about stenciling and all sorts of patterns, from contemporary, to Moroccan, and everything in between.
Thanks as well for sending so many stencils and modellos for me to use in my workshops at ArtFusion in Santa Fe. They are always a huge hit.
Yes, our home is very Boho, with lots of color and pattern in stenciled furniture, accessories, and artwork. Just when I think I can’t imagine one more stenciling project, I get inspired again, often by fellow P+P bloggers like Deb Trombley, of NomadicDecorator.com and so many more.
I’m looking forward to many new project adventures using Royal Design Studio stencils, modellos, Stencil Cremes and who knows what else in 2016. See you there!
2015 was an exciting year for me, getting to explore even more of Modern Masters product line, particularly Metal Effects, to create rust and fabulous patina. I think these products have exploded in DIY popularity due to their ease of use, and wondrous unpredictability.
As a creative, tutorial-focused blogger, I am ever grateful for opportunities to work with companies like Modern Masters, who appreciate the power of letting artists like me take off and explore new possibilities with their materials.
So looking forward to working with you again in 2016 – and Periscope!
Today I’m sharing this post, which using the same Royal Design Studio French Numbers stencils as in yesterday’s Calendar Cube project. Now you have two ways to use these fun stencils!
I created this post for Wood Icing®, using their multi-use Textura Paste, in conjunction with Miss Mustard Seeds Milk Paint.
FIRST, PSSSSTTTTT. Look what I found on a page inside Prairie Style Magazine!
The amazing stylist, blogger, author, Fifi O’neill has discovered that I adore color – specifically bohemian color and pattern combos. I am sworn to secrecy (it’s so hard not reveal all), but Fifi has divulged that I will be sharing color inspiration in her new BOHO Style Magazine, on newsstands January 12.
Color. Inspiration. Hint, hint. Details to come!

You may think I have been pretty quiet lately. But not really. I’ve been prepping a zillion sample boards, gathering supplies, writing class materials, playing with new possibilities in paint and more!
I’m so excited to head off to New Mexico next week, as an instructor at the fabulous ArtFusion event in Santa Fe, and to teach at The New Leaf in Albuquerque, with owner Angie Graham. Three workshops in three days! (And I am going to attend one, too.)
All workshops are fully booked. Lots of awesome products are packed and heading to the venues right now.
Stay tuned next week, when we roll up our sleeves, pop cans of paint, and open up brand new stencils. I can’t wait to see the results!
